Composition Praziquantel 20 mg, pyrantel (as embonate) 80 mg.
Actions Praziquantel destroys the tapeworm's ability to defend itself from the host's digestive enzymes and immune system. It also appears to interfere with the musculature of the scolex such that the parasite loses its attachment to the gut wall.
Pyrantel embonate interferes with the parasite's nervous system.
Use to treat for Gastrointestinal worms including roundworms (Toxocara cati, Toxascaris leonina), hookworms (Ancylostoma tubaeforme, A. caninum, A. braziliense, Uncinaria stenocephala), and tapeworms (Dipylidium caninum, Taenia taeniaeformis); in cats.
Dosage and Administration Administer orally on an empty stomach. Cats less than 2 kg: 1/2 tablet; 2.1 to 4 kg; 1 tablet; over 4 kg: 1 tablet/4 kg.
