Avoid solution contamination; do not allow air to enter the container.
Dosage and Administration This product may be administered intravenously. Administration by this route can be hazardous and may lead to sudden heart failure. When treating hypomagnesaemia (grass or lactating tetany) an initial treatment with a magnesium salt solution should be given as well as this product.
Subcutaneous injection. Cattle: 350 mL. Sheep: 70 mL. Warm solution to body temperature. Snap tip off plug and ensure solution can flow freely. Disinfect injection site and connect needle to administer under the skin of the neck and/or over the ribs, or under the skin of the dewlap for sheep. Gently squeeze the bag to inject the solution. Large volumes should be distributed over more than one injection site. Always maintain cleanliness. Areas may be massaged following injection to allow for quicker absorption of solution and reduce the risk of tissue reaction. Repeat in six hours if complete recovery does not occur, and seek veterinary advice.
Presentation Injection (collapsible pack with sterile needle): 350 mL, 500 mL.
