Composition Each L contains monopropylene glycol 832 g, choline chloride 20.6 g, cobalt sulfate 1.1 g.
Actions Propylene glycol helps elevate blood glucose levels, assists removal of ketones and accelerates general metabolic function. Choline aids growth and maintenance of cells, and transport and utilisation of fats. Cobalt sulfate helps prevent any deficiency of cobalt which can result in lack of vitamin B12 and liver dysfunction.
Indications Acetonaemia (ketosis) in cattle and pregnancy toxaemia in sheep. Helps elevate blood glucose levels and depress blood ketone levels.
Contraindications Use in dairy cattle when milk iodine levels are near the upper limit of acceptability. This can occur when milk production is low.
Precautions First Aid If in eyes, hold eyes open and irrigate for 15 minutes with clear running water. If swallowed, induce vomiting, preferably using Ipecac Syrup APF.
Disposal Triple or (preferably) pressure rinse into medicated solution. Do not dispose of undiluted chemical on site. Return clean container to recycle or point of supply.
Withholding Periods Meat Nil.
Milk Nil.
Dosage and Administration Administer as a drench, in the drinking water or on the food.
Sheep. Pregnancy toxaemia. 125 mL daily. Treatment can be given for up to 10 days.
Cattle. Acetonaemia (ketosis). 250 mL morning and evening for two days; reduce to 125 mL morning and evening for next three days.
