Actions Iodophor has an antiseptic action. The formulation has been shown to be effective against a wide range of organisms including those associated with bacterial and fungal skin conditions such as ringworm and mud fever dermatophilus infection or streptothricosis. Indications Nonspecific dermatoses and ringworm in horses, cattle, dogs and cats, and Queensland itch in horses. Precautions First Aid If the concentrated liquid contacts the eye, flush with plenty of water. Seek medical advice if irritation persists. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting; give oil, milk or egg white. Directions for Use Treatment of skin conditions. 30 mL/5 L of water. Wash animal thoroughly with mixture, rinse off and repeat; do not rinse off. Routine washing. 30 mL/10 L of water, wash animal thoroughly; no need to rinse off. Note. Light coloured animals may show slight temporary discolouration of the hair; to minimise this effect the application may be rinsed off after one to two hours. The wash contains a special low foaming cleansing agent. If necessary, excessively dirty animals may be prewashed with an ordinary shampoo then rinsed thoroughly before continuing with treatment.
