Composition Abamectin 3.7 mg/g, praziquantel 46.2 mg/g; palatable oatmeal base.
Indications Treatment and control of susceptible tapeworms and roundworms (including arterial larval stages of Strongyloides vulgaris and benzimidazole resistant small strongyles), bots and skin lesions caused by Habronema sp. and Draschia sp. (summer sores), and Onchocerca sp. Microfilaria (cutaneous onchocerciasis) in horses. Treatment and control of tapeworms (Anoplocephala perfoliata, A. magna and Paranoplocephala mammillana adult and immature, heads and segments), large strongyles (Strongylus vulgaris adults and arterial larval stages, S. edentatus adults and tissue stages and S. equinus adults), Triodontophorus sp. (adults), small strongyles including benzimidazole resistant strains (adult and immature) Cyathostomum sp., Cylicocyclus sp., Cylicostephanus sp., Cylicodontophorus sp., Gyalocephalus sp., pinworms (Oxyuris equi adult and immature), ascarids (Parascaris equorum adult and immature), hairworms (Trichostrongylus axei adult), large mouth stomach worms (Habronema muscae (adult)), neck threadworms (Onchocerca sp. microfilariae), bots (Gasterophilus sp. oral and gastric stages), lungworms (Dictyocaulus arnfieldi adult and immature) and intestinal threadworms (Strongyloides westeri adult).
Precautions Safety directions Poisonous if swallowed. May irritate the eyes and skin. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Wash hands after use.

Disposal Dispose of empty container and syringe by wrapping with paper and putting in garbage.
Withholding Periods Meat 28 days.
Adverse Reactions No adverse reactions have been detected using the recommended dose rate. Demonstrated to be safe to use at up to twice the recommended dose in foals, pregnant mares and breeding stallions, and at up to five times the recommended dose in adult horses.
Dosage and Administration Equimax is given orally at the recommended dose rate of 1 mL/20 kg bodyweight (5.4 g/100 kg bodyweight). One syringe will treat a 700 kg horse. It is recommended that horses be wormed every six to eight weeks or as recommended by a veterinarian. Suggested parasite control program. All horses should be included in a regular parasite control program with particular attention being paid to mares, foals and yearlings. Foals should be treated initially at 6 to 8 weeks of age, and routine treatment repeated as appropriate. Regular treatment will reduce the chances of verminous arteritis and colic caused by S. vulgaris. It is recommended that horses be wormed every six to eight weeks or as recommended by a veterinarian.
